SKAGIT COUNTY, WA — A semi-truck and a van were involved in a wreck Friday morning on Interstate 5 in Burlington, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Trooper Kelsey Harding reported the accident on the northbound side of I-5 near Cook Road (Exit 232) at around 8:41 a.m.
An investigation remains underway, but preliminary details indicate a driver in a van made an improper lane change and crashed into the semi.
The accident had the interstate fully blocking in the immediate aftermath, but at the time of Trooper Harding’s report, only one northbound lane remained closed.
1/2 We have one lane blocked on north I-5 near Cook Road in Burlington for a van versus semi truck collision. This collision was previously fully blocking. No ETA to fully re-open the road. Preliminary findings show the van made an unsafe lane change into the semi truck. pic.twitter.com/5s0l0JD9mI
