SEATTLE, WA — A FedEx truck overturned Friday night, causing several packages to spill onto Interstate 5 in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood, according to KOMO News.
Dispatchers with the Washington State Patrol received reports of the rollover crash on the southbound lanes of I-5 at around 9:45 p.m.
Preliminary details indicate a two-car crash ahead of the FedEx truck had prompted the FedEx driver to slow down to avoid the scene. The quick maneuver resulted in the FedEx truck losing control and striking the left-side barrier, causing it to roll over.
Though the driver only sustained minor injuries, multiple other drivers stopped on the interstate to steal packages that had fallen out of the overturned truck.
At this time, WSP troopers are working to identify those involved in the incident. Anyone who has footage of the event or information on the individuals is asked to contact investigators.
