SEATTLE, WA — One person was injured late Tuesday night due to a motorcycle accident on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident occurred on the southbound side of I-5 near Exit 165B to the Seattle Convention Center, in the Central Business District. It was first tweeted by Trooper Rick Johnson shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Details remain limited, but witnesses said they observed several motorcyclists traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, which involved just one motorcyclist.
WSP troopers administered CPR on the rider shortly after arriving at the scene, and Seattle Fire Department crews took over life-saving measures as they responded to the area.
SB I-5 at the convention center there is a collision involving a motorcycle. Rider taken to Harborview. No updates on condition at this point. Expect delays through the area.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where the patient’s condition remains undisclosed.

Three of the available southbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath. Motorists were warned of delays impacting the area.
