KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple semi-trucks and passenger cars were involved in a crash Thursday morning that closed State Route 18 in both directions near southeast Issaquah, reports KOMO News.

The accident happened on the eastbound side of SR-18 near milepost 23 and the Tiger Mountain summit at around 8:00 a.m. By 12:52 p.m., the highway remained blocked in both directions between Interstate 90 and Issaquah-Hobart Road, which created a traffic backup at least three miles long.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible cause of the wreck, but three semi-trucks and two passenger cars were involved. The incident, which left significant debris in the roadway, also resulted in a fuel spill, prompting a long closure as crews worked to clear the scene.

Eastside Fire and Rescue officials confirmed one person who suffered injuries considered non-life-threatening was transported to an area hospital. No major injuries were reported.
