PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person was injured Wednesday morning due to a rollover crash involving a cement truck on State Route 704 in Spanaway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of SR-704 near Spanaway Loop Road and was first reported by Trooper John Dattilo just after 8:30 a.m.

Officials did not indicate what might have caused the truck to overturn, but Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews had to extricate the driver from the wreckage.

It was unclear whether the victim, who suffered minor injuries, had to be transported to a hospital. No one else was reported hurt.

Photos taken at the scene show a white Miles Sand & Gravel truck rolled onto its driver’s side.

The WSP has not released any further information at this time.
