TACOMA, WA — A traffic investigation late Wednesday afternoon had part of westbound 38th Street closed in south Tacoma, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
The accident was reported on the westbound side of South 38th Street, just west of Pine Street. Shortly before 4:30 p.m., TPD officials announced the closure of all westbound lanes in the area.
At this time, the department has not disclosed the events leading up to the wreck or the number of vehicles involved. No major injuries were immediately reported.

Motorists were asked to find alternate routes around the scene until shortly after 5:00 p.m., when 38th Street was reopened to the public.
