SEATTLE, WA — One person was injured Wednesday morning due to a motorcycle crash on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred on the southbound lanes near Exit 173 to North Northgate Way. It was first reported by Trooper Rick Johnson at 6:12 a.m.
Officials have not detailed the events leading up to the wreck, but lanes 1 and 2 of southbound I-5 were closed in the area.
The rider, who reported a sore back following the incident, was transported to an area hospital.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved, and no other injuries were reported.
