News: Passenger dies after multi-injury crash in SW Federal Way

KING COUNTY, WA — One person died early Friday after a two-car wreck in southwest Federal Way that injured two other people, including a child, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

The fatal collision occurred in the 300 block of Southwest Campus Drive. Federal Way Police were dispatched to the scene at about 2:40 a.m.

While the cause of the accident was not immediately clear, but officers arrived on the scene to find bystanders administering life-saving measures. Officers continued the efforts until medics arrived, but a passenger from one vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the second car and their child passenger were taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the first car is believed to have caused the crash. It was unclear whether that driver was hurt, but they remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation. The case is being handled by the Federal Way Police Department’s traffic unit, which was working to determine whether impairment contributed to the crash.

A section of SW Campus Drive was closed between 1st Avenue South and 7th Avenue Southwest during the response and investigation. Motorists were urged to find alternate routes around the scene.
