KING COUNTY, WA — Authorities were called to a wreck late Thursday morning on Interstate 5 in Kent’s Midway area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the northbound lanes of I-5 at Exit 149A to State Route 516. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 11:50 a.m.
While no information regarding the cause of the crash has been shared, local firefighters, WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT), and Washington State Patrol troopers were all dispatched to the scene.
The northbound HOV lane was closed during the emergency response, creating delays in the area.
This collision is now blocking the HOV lane on northbound I-5 at SR 516 in #Kent.

By 12:34 p.m., more than 40 minutes later, crews had cleared the accident from the roadway and all lanes were reopened. Motorists were warned of a potential visual distraction caused by a few remaining vehicles on the left shoulder.
No injuries have been reported in the event.
