News: Injuries reported after hit-and-run on 1st Ave S in Georgetown area

SEATTLE, WA — At least one person was hurt Wednesday afternoon due to a hit-and-run collision in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident was reported in the 5900 block of 1st Avenue South, in an area northwest of King County International Airport. Officers with the department’s South Precinct were called to the scene at about 12:13 p.m.

Very few details have been made available, but police dispatchers listed the event as a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) with injuries. At least one involved party left the scene before authorities arrived, qualifying the crash as a hit-and-run.

At this time, the SPD has not confirmed the number of people injured or indicated the extent of injuries sustained.

No information on the hit-and-run suspect and/or fleeing vehicle has been shared.
