TACOMA, WA — Authorities were called to an injury collision last Friday morning, June 23, on South 56th St in south Tacoma, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
The accident took place on a span of the road between South Birmingham Street and South Puget Sound Avenue. It was first tweeted by the department at 4:45 a.m.
No information regarding the cause of the wreck has been shared, but preliminary details indicate a passenger car collided with a pole, causing injuries to at least one person. No other vehicles appear to have been involved.
Motorists were urged to find alternate routes, as a section of South 56th Street was closed during the emergency response.
