KING COUNTY, WA — Police were called to the scene of an apparent smash-and-grab burglary at a Des Moines gas station early Monday, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

Officers were called to 25915 Pacific Highway South, the address of a 76 gas station, at around 5:15 a.m.

Authorities are still working to reconstruct the sequence of events, but the business storefront was discovered damaged. Preliminary details indicate a large truck, possibly a tow truck, reversed into the building and then left the scene.

Responding officers noted cigarettes and tobacco had been taken, but the ATM was left behind. The store owner said the incident marks the fourth time the business has been impacted by a burglary of this kind.

At this time, investigators have not released a description of the fleeing vehicle and/or suspect(s). No injuries have been reported.
