KING COUNTY, WA — Two people had to be extricated Tuesday afternoon after their SUV overturned on an Interstate 405 exit ramp in Bellevue, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident occurred on the Exit 14 ramp connecting I-405 southbound to State Route 520 westbound. It was first reported by Trooper Rick Johnson at 3:32 p.m.
Officials said a driver merged onto the ramp at an excessive speed, causing their SUV to roll.
Responding Bellevue Fire Department crews performed a rescue extrication to remove the driver and a passenger, who suffered only minor injuries.
A photo captured at the scene show the vehicle flipped onto its roof, and multiple emergency vehicles stopped in the area.
Motorists were urged to use caution as they approach the area.
#HappeningNow. SUV took ramp from SB 405 to WB 520 too fast and rolled. Two occupants were trapped but thankfully only minor injuries. @BvueFD on scene and doing an awesome job as usual. Use caution through the area. pic.twitter.com/Z5PYdR5kAF
