PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 42-year-old woman from Bonney Lake was seriously injured Tuesday morning due to a multi-vehicle wreck involving a hit-and-run driver in Sumner, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

The Washington State Patrol said the incident occurred on the westbound lanes of State Route 410, near the interchange ramp to State Route 167.

Preliminary details indicate that at around 6:30 a.m., the woman was behind the wheel of a white Honda Accord heading westbound in the center lane of SR-410. As a dark-colored car entered the westbound lanes from Traffic Avenue, merging from the right lane to the center lane, it hit the passenger side of the Accord. The impact of the crash sent the Accord into the left lane, causing it to strike a cement mixer truck. The Accord then rotated in front of the cement truck and collided with the concrete barrier.

Authorities said the victim was seriously injured in the crash, and the driver of the causing car continued westbound without stopping.

At this time, investigators have not been able to release a description of the vehicle or the hit-and-run suspect. The Washington State Patrol urges anyone with information to contact Detective Travis Calton at 360-918-4032.
