SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon closed up to two left lanes on Interstate 5 near Seattle’s University District, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident impacted the southbound lanes of I-5 just south of Northeast 45th Street, before the Ship Canal Bridge. It was first reported by WSDOT at 1:30 p.m.
On I-5 southbound just south of NE 45th St there is a collision blocking the left lane.

Officials have not shared specific details regarding the cause of the wreck, but multiple agencies, including the Washington State Patrol, WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT), and Seattle Fire Department crew members, were dispatched to the scene.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was serious injured and/or had to be taken to a hospital.
