SEATTLE, WA — Authorities were called to a crash Tuesday afternoon that blocked a left lane on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s University District, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes just south of Northeast 45th Street. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 1:45 p.m.
Little information has been provided at this time, but by 1:53 p.m., WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) and Washington State Patrol troopers had responded.
Video captured at the scene show a box truck and at least one passenger car stopped on the left lane, but authorities have not confirmed the vehicles involved.

By 2:00 p.m., crews had cleared the accident to the left shoulder, but motorists were warned of a visual distraction and lingering delays.
Local agencies have not released any details regarding potential injuries at this time.
