PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A driver was arrested for suspected impairment Wednesday night after a two-car crash on State Route 16 in Gig Harbor, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision took place on the westbound lanes of SR-16, just before Wollochet Drive. It was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 8:48 p.m.
While officials have not detailed the events leading up to the crash, one of the two drivers was taken into custody for DUI.
It was unclear whether anyone was seriously hurt, but one westbound lane was blocked during the emergency response. A photo taken at the scene shows a traffic backup forming.
