SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident Thursday evening closed a right lane on Interstate 5 near Seattle’s University District, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The crash happened on the southbound lanes at Northeast 50th Street and was first recorded by WSDOT at 5:35 p.m.
Officials have not said what led up to the crash, but motorists were told to expect delays as WSDOT’s Incident Response Team responded to the scene.
Traffic footage captured at the site shows what appears to be a double-decker bus stopped in the right lane, but it was unclear whether or not the vehicle was involved.
A collision on southbound I-5 at NE 50th Street in Seattle is blocking the right lane.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m., about 25 minutes after the initial report, crews had cleared the scene and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
