News: Woman dies after hit-and-run crash in Seattle’s SODO area

SEATTLE, WA — A 40-year-old woman died Thursday night after a hit-and-run pedestrian collision in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood, according to KOMO News.

Officers with the Seattle Police Department’s South Precinct responded to the scene at 4th Avenue South and South Lander Street at about 10:40 p.m.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear, but authorities said officers had been patrolling the area moments before they heard the crash.

Responding officers worked to provide life-saving measures to the female pedestrian, but the victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The SPD describes the suspect vehicle as a white 2015-2023 Dodge Charger with extensive damage to its front end. It was last seen fleeing the scene at high speeds.

As of this writing, the SPD continues to investigate and search for the fleeing driver.
