The accident occurred at the intersection with Sill Road, in an area northwest of Smokey Point. It was first reported by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office at 8:30 p.m.

Officials did not say what led up to the collision, but the occupants of the pickup were able to safely exit the vehicle before the train struck.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the pickup completely covered in flames.

Despite the impact of the crash, the train did not derail from the tracks, and no injuries were reported among the occupants of the pickup and the train.
