SEATTLE, WA — Investigators have found a vehicle believed to have been involved in a fatal pedestrian crash Sunday afternoon in Seattle’s Capitol Hill area, reports KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred in the 1700 block of East Madison Street, near 22nd Avenue on February 5, at about 4:45 p.m.

An investigation indicates an 80-year-old woman was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Multiple passersby, including an off-duty Seattle police officer, rushed to administer CPR on the woman.

The victim, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center, later succumbed to her injuries, confirmed officials.

The fleeing vehicle, described by witnesses as a black or dark green Ford van with bars across its rear windows, has now appeared to have been located in the 7500 block of Seaview by Golden Gardens Park.

An investigation by the SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad remains underway. The hit-and-run driver remains at large.
