News: Pedestrian hit, killed by train off Pioneer Way E in Puyallup

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Wednesday morning after being struck by a train in northwest Puyallup, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

The fatal incident occurred off of the 4500 block of Pioneer Way East, south of Chief Leschi Schools. Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at about 9:20 a.m.

Officials have not provided information regarding the sequence of events, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Railway tracks in the area were blocked off as the PCSO’s Traffic Unit conducted a preliminary investigation.
