SEATTLE, WA — Multiple agencies were called to a wreck Friday afternoon on Interstate 5 in north Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident took place on the southbound lanes just north of Exit 172 to North 85th Street, in the Licton Springs neighborhood. It was first reported by WSDOT at 1:10 p.m.
Little information has been shared, but the collision left the HOV lane and left lane blocked. At the time of the WSDOT report, the Washington State Patrol, fire crews, and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) had responded to the site.
Motorists were asked to use extra caution as they approach the scene.

By 1:50 p.m., about 40 minutes after the initial report, crews had cleared the accident from the roadway and all lanes were reopened.

Authorities have not indicated any injuries in the event.
