SEATTLE, WA — Firefighters responded to a wreck Thursday afternoon that blocked a left lane on Interstate 5 in north Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The collision occurred on the southbound lanes at Northeast 65th Street, approaching the Meridian neighborhood. It was first reported by WSDOT at 12:45 p.m.

Officials have not said what caused the accident, but footage taken at the scene shows up to two fire engines responding to the scene, indicating potential injuries.
It remains unclear at this time how many vehicles were involved or whether anyone had to be taken to a hospital.
Motorists were told to expect delays and use extra caution while passing the area.

By 1:22 p.m., more than 35 minutes after the initial report, crews had cleared the scene and all lanes were restored to traffic.
