PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Wednesday morning following a collision on State Route 507 in southwest Roy, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection with 295th Street South, at milepost 34. Trooper Robert Reyer first tweeted about the event at 7:15 a.m.
It remains unclear what caused the crash, but authorities said two vehicles were involved, and one of the drivers was pronounced deceased on scene.
No information on the other driver or other occupants has been released.
A section of SR-507 was shut down in both directions as authorities responded for an investigation. Commuters were urged to find alternate routes.
