PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A vehicle collided with a power pole late Monday night in Tacoma’s South End neighborhood, resulting in minor injuries, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

The incident occurred on Pacific Avenue between South 72nd Street and South 76th Street, near the Fred Meyer store. It was first reported by the TPD at 10:23 p.m.

Officials did not say what led up to the wreck, but the impact downed power lines in the area.

A span of Pacific Avenue was expected to remain closed in both directions, for several hours, as Tacoma Police investigated and Tacoma Public Utilities crew members worked on repairs.

By 11:57 p.m., the road was reported reopened to traffic.

Authorities have not confirmed the number of people injured at this time.
