SEATTLE, WA — One person has died Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle traveled off the 1st Avenue South Bridge near Seattle’s Georgetown area, reports KOMO News.
The fatal crash happened where the overpass runs across South Michigan Street, at about 2:30 p.m. Seattle Police and first responders were called to the scene shortly after.
Very few details have been released at this time, but the Seattle Fire Department said a passenger car ran off the bridge and landed on South Michigan Street below. Firefighters arrived to find one person deceased inside the fallen vehicle.
The cause of the accident remains unclear, but an investigation by Seattle Police was underway.
