KING COUNTY, WA — A woman died Sunday morning after being struck by two cars while walking in northeast Kent, according to KOMO News.
The Kent Police Department said the fatal incident took place in the 23300 block of 132nd Avenue Southeast at about 5:45 a.m.
According to authorities, the woman appeared to have been crossing the street when she was hit by a southbound vehicle. The impact of that crash sent her into the northbound lane, where she was struck by another car.
Kent Police and Puget Sound medics arrived on the scene to find the woman unresponsive in the roadway. Despite life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Authorities said both drivers stopped immediately after the crash and stayed at the site until first responders arrived. Both cooperated with investigators, who do not believe impairment or speed played roles in the event.
An investigation remains ongoing.
