PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A woman was found deceased Tuesday morning after an apparent accident involving one of the cars she was moving in her South Hill driveway, according to KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred in the 7800 block of 165th Street Court E. Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at about 6:00 a.m. after receiving a call about a woman in the roadway.

Surveillance video recovered from the area suggests the victim was moving vehicles around in the driveway when she was struck by one of the cars. Officers arrived to find a silver SUV still in reverse and running, against a tree in the yard.

The sheriff’s office noted the woman’s death initially appeared “suspicious,” but the preliminary investigation indicates it was accidental.

The official cause of death is pending from the medical examiner’s office.
