KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A man managed to escape a sinking semi-truck Wednesday after it drove off a boat ramp in Manchester, reports FOX 13 Seattle.
Deputies with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) responded to the scene off East Main Street at around 8:16 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was driving a tractor-trailer with a 50,000-pound load when it suddenly lost its brakes and began traveling out of control. The male driver made a decision to aim for the boat ramp as the safest course of action, sending the semi into the water.
By the time authorities arrived, the driver had already escaped the semi-truck, which ended up fully submerged. No injuries were reported in the event.
