THURSTON COUNTY, WA — Two people were hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a collision on State Route 507 near southwest Yelm, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident occurred at Koeppen Road Southeast and was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 1:40 p.m.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the crash, but two vehicles were involved, and both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. First responders transported both patients to an area hospital.
A photo taken at the scene shows at least one pickup truck was involved. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage, and the impact of the crash caused one vehicle to overturn onto its side. The extent of damage pictured indicates both vehicles were totaled.
Both WSP troopers and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews were on the scene where SR-507 was shut down in both directions. Traffic in the area was being re-routed to Koeppen Road.
