News: 1 hospitalized after rollover semi crash on US-2 near Monroe

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was injured Monday afternoon when a semi-truck overturned on U.S. Highway 2 near northwest Monroe, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the accident occurred on the westbound lanes between Fryelands Boulevard and Roosevelt Road. It was first reported shortly before 1:23 p.m.

Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue officials said the wreck involved a garbage truck, which appears to have run off the roadway and rolled into a nearby field.

One person suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

All westbound lanes were initially reported blocked in the immediate aftermath of the crash. Shortly after, all eastbound lanes were also temporarily closed as emergency crews responded to the area. Just after 4:00 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
