KING COUNTY, WA — A woman died early Thursday after a two-vehicle wreck in southwest Federal Way that left a man seriously injured, according to KOMO News.

The fatal accident happened near Southwest 356th Street and 8th Avenue Southwest. Federal Way Police Department officers were called to the scene at about 2:00 a.m.

Authorities have not publicly identified the cause of the crash, but police arrived to find one vehicle overturned and both vehicles  extensively damaged.

One of the involved drivers, a woman in her late 40s, died from her injuries at the scene, confirmed fire crews.

Medics transported the other driver, a man in his 30s, to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center with serious but “non-life-threatening injuries.”

As late as 7:00 a.m., part of Southwest 356th Street remained blocked off.

The FWPD’s Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and continues to handle the case. At this time, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the fatal crash.
