SEATTLE, WA — Seattle Police released images Wednesday of the vehicle that fatally struck a woman last month in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood, according to KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Walden Street on Friday, October 21, at around 7:15 p.m.

While the sequence of events leading up to the crash remain unclear, authorities said a 66-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene without stopping.

First responders arrived to find the victim lying in the roadway, and she was later pronounced deceased.

Images taken from surveillance video now offer more details. The SPD describes the suspect vehicle as a “light-colored–possibly silver, gray, or white–2011-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.” Authorities said the vehicle likely sustained damage to its front-end, including the hood, grill and bumper in the passenger-side headlight area.

At this time, a search for the suspect remains ongoing. The department encourages anyone with information to reach investigators at 206-684-8923.
