SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was hospitalized Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 99 in southeast Edmonds, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.
The incident took place on the southbound lanes at 238th Street Southwest. It was first reported by the Edmonds Police Department at around 6:40 p.m.
Authorities have not disclosed the sequence of events, but indicated the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
First responders rushed the victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with undisclosed injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. At this time, impairment is not a suspected factor in the event.
SR-99 south of 238th Street Southwest was shut down for an extended time as officials worked the scene. By 9:27 p.m., the roadway was reopened to traffic.
