News: Pedestrian fatally hurt by hit-and-run driver on SR-516 near Kent

KING COUNTY, WA — One person died early Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 516 near northwest Kent, according to KOMO News.

Washington State Patrol said the incident occurred near the ramp to the northbound Interstate 5 interchange. Troopers responded to the scene at about 2:30 a.m.

The circumstances behind the event remain unclear, but by the time officials arrived, the driver had already fled the scene. The male pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene despite life-saving measures.

At this time, authorities have not released a description of the fleeing vehicle, but it is believed to have sustained recent damage to its hood and windshield area.
