PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 31-year-old man was fatally injured early last Tuesday when he was hit by a vehicle on 9th Avenue Court South in south Tacoma, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
Surveillance video captured in the area indicates the incident occurred at the intersection with 108th Street South on November 15 at around 3:07 a.m.
Investigators said the male pedestrian was standing near the intersection with a blanket with a blanket over his body as three vehicles passed by. The footage indicates the victim was struck by either the second or third vehicle.
A nearby resident who heard the crash went out to the scene and stayed with the victim until authorities arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital where he later died, confirmed officials.
At this time, information regarding the fleeing vehicle and suspect has not been released.
An investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department remains ongoing.
