SEATTLE, WA — Emergency crews were called to a collision Monday afternoon on Interstate 5 near Columbia Center in downtown Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes at James Street and was first reported by WSDOT at 1:25 p.m. Fire Assistance crews and the Washington State Patrol responded to the scene shortly after.
It was unclear what circumstances led up to the crash, but two right lanes were closed by 1:36 p.m.
Authorities have not confirmed any injuries in the incident, but video footage taken at the scene shows at least one fire truck responding.

By 1:54 p.m., nearly 30 minutes later, the lanes were reopened to traffic. Motorists were advised to use extra caution in the area has the WSP continued to work the scene.
