TACOMA, WA — A man died late Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle accident in Tacoma’s South End, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred on Pacific Avenue between South 72nd Street and South 68th Street. It was first reported by the TPD at 10:52 a.m.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the wreck, but a passenger vehicle collided with a pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the impacted car was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. At 11:53 a.m., Tacoma Police confirmed the victim had died.
The driver and sole occupant of the involved vehicle has passed away from his injuries at the hospital. This is now a fatality collision investigation.

A section of Pacific Avenue was blocked off in the aftermath of the crash but was announced reopened at 1:12 p.m.
