KING COUNTY, WA — Emergency crews were called to a collision Monday morning on Interstate 405 near central Renton, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident impacted the southbound lanes at Exit 3 to Talbot Road South and was first reported by WSDOT at around 10:18 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the crash, but the left general purpose lane and part of the HOV lane were initially blocked.
By 10:50 a.m., three left lanes, including the southbound HOV offramp to SR-167, were reported closed. Motorists were warned of heavy delays, as the blockage had created a 2.5 mile traffic backup in the area.
