KING COUNTY, WA — A Washington State Patrol cruiser was hit by another vehicle Wednesday morning at the scene of a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 405 in Bellevue, reports KOMO News.

The wreck occurred on the northbound lanes near Exit 12 to Southeast 8th Street, in the Woodridge area. It was first reported by KOMO at 5:44 a.m.

According to the WSP, a trooper was out of his vehicle and placing extra flares on the roadway. At one point, a driver crashed their vehicle into the left-rear of his cruiser.

No injuries to the trooper or anyone else were reported, but both vehicles sustained considerable damage.

The northbound highway was reopened to traffic about 90 minutes after the incident.

An early investigation determined that the striking driver was not impaired at the time of the crash.
