KING COUNTY, WA — A small power outage was reported early Friday after a car hit a utility box in the Woodmont Beach neighborhood of south Des Moines, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The accident happened on 16th Avenue South near South 260th Street, south of Saltwater State Park. It was first reported by Puget Sound Fire at 3:38 a.m.

Officials did not describe the events leading up to the wreck, but the utility box was damaged, cutting traffic lights at the intersection. Photos taken at the scene show one car at rest in the middle of the roadway. No other vehicles appear to have been involved.

Multiple agencies, including Sound Kitsap Fire and Rescue, Medic One and Des Moines Police, assisted Puget Sound Fire crews at the scene.

It was unclear whether anyone was hurt, but officials initially listed the incident as a “serious motor vehicle accident.”

Responding crews were working to repair damages and restore power at the intersection.
