SEATTLE, WA — At least one person was injured early Monday in a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle on Interstate 5 near south Seattle, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

The incident occurred on the southbound interstate near Exit 158 to Boeing Access Road, just north of Tukwila’s Duwamish area. Washington State Patrol troopers responded to the scene after receiving a call at around 4:30 a.m.

Authorities believe a driver in a stolen BMW X-5 was speeding and possibly racing with another driver when it collided with a Toyota Camry. The impact of that crash caused the second car to spin and strike a Toyota Prius.

As a result of the wreck, the driver of the Camry suffered a broken jaw and cuts to their face.

Troopers arrived to find both the Prius and the Camry severely damaged and blocking two lanes of traffic. By then, the BMW had fled and exited the interstate. At one point, the car struck a pole and ended up in ditch. Its driver and passengers then fled that crash site in a dark-colored Honda Civic.

As of this writing, the fleeing suspects have not been identified or located.
