SEATTLE, WA — Fire crews rescued a man from the wreckage of an SUV Thursday night after a collision in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

First responders arrived on the scene in the area of South Forest Street and 7th Place South shortly after 7:00 p.m.

An early investigation indicates a Jeep was leaving the Interstate 5 exit ramp when it failed to slow down or stop. Moments later, it slammed into the back of an SUV driven by the victim.

Firefighters had to cut off three doors and the top of the SUV in order to access and remove the victim, who became trapped as a result of the crash. The extent of the patient’s injuries remains unknown at this time.

Authorities have not reported any pending charges or citations against the Jeep driver.
