SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was able to exit their vehicle moments before it was struck by a train Saturday night near Cascadia Art Museum in Edmonds, reports MyNorthwest.
The accident happened at Edmonds Station, along Railroad Avenue off West Dayton Street. Multiple police cruisers were seen responding to the scene.
According to authorities, a driver made a turn onto the railway tracks by mistake, causing their car to become stuck. The driver managed to escape the vehicle before it was hit and pushed down the length of the tracks by an oncoming train.
Multiple Good Samaritans had tried to lift and move the vehicle off the tracks before the impact, but were ultimately unable to do so.
No injuries have been reported in the incident, and no further details have been released.
