KING COUNTY, WA — Emergency crews were called to a crash late Thursday morning on Interstate 5 near southeast SeaTac, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes just south of Exit 152 to South 188th Street. It was first reported by WSDOT at 11:30 a.m.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed the cause of the wreck or the number of vehicles involved.

A single right lane was initially blocked, but by 11:56 a.m., the closure was upgraded to two right lanes as emergency vehicles arrived on the scene.

Motorists were advised to find alternate routes, as a traffic backup had stretched down to State Route 516. The scene remained on the roadway for about an hour, suggesting a major crash.

By 12:56 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
