KING COUNTY, WA — One person was taken into protective custody Monday afternoon after a multi-vehicle wreck near Renton Technical College, according to Renton Reporter.
The collision occurred in the area of Northeast 4th Street and Monroe Avenue Northeast shortly before 4:00 p.m.
Renton Police said one driver crashed their vehicle into multiple other cars while traveling between two westbound lanes on 4th Street toward the intersection. As many as seven vehicles were struck.
Authorities indicated minor injuries in the incident, but it was unclear how many people were impacted.
The causing driver, who was suspected of driving while impaired, was put on “an involuntary hold for protective custody.” First responders transported the suspect to Valley Medical Center.
Seven of the eight involved vehicles had to be towed from the scene, indicating significant property damage.
All westbound lanes were blocked during the response, creating heavy traffic jams in the area.
