News: WSP investigates crash on I-5 SB near Maytown Rest Area

THURSTON COUNTY, WA — A vehicle wreck early Monday closed two right lanes for several hours on Interstate 5 near Maytown Rest Area in Tenino, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred on the southbound interstate at milepost 93.43, in an area just south of Olympia. It was first reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation at 2:15 a.m.

No information has been shared regarding the cause of the crash, but WSP troopers carried out an investigation that kept the lanes closed for nearly seven hours.

It was unclear whether anyone was seriously injured, but Trooper Robert Reyer confirmed no fatalities were reported.

At 9:06 a.m., officials announced the scene had been cleared.
