News: Pedestrian fatally hit by car on 1st Ave S in Seattle’s SoDo

SEATTLE, WA — One person died Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

Seattle Police responded to the scene in the 1700 block of 1st Avenue South, in an area two blocks south of T-Mobile Park. The incident was first reported at around 3:55 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but authorities confirmed the pedestrian died from their injuries at the scene.

It remains unclear what led up to the crash and whether the driver remained stayed at the site.

All southbound lanes of 1st Avenue South in the area were shut down during the emergency response. All traffic was forced to pass through one open northbound lane.
