SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A fiery collision Friday morning blocked two right lanes on Interstate 5 near Everett Mall in south Everett, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes just south of South Everett Mall Way, in the city’s Cascade View area. Multiple emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 8:20 p.m.
It was unclear what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were impacted, but Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, the Washington State Patrol, and the WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) all responded.
Footage taken at the site shows heavy smoke emitting from at least one passenger vehicle.

By 9:37 a.m., more than an hour later, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to normal traffic.
Officials have not confirmed any injuries at this time.
